Oxfordshire has a particular problem that does not get talked about much. The county has world class hospitals sitting a few miles from villages where getting to a GP means a bus that runs twice a day. The distance between excellent and unreachable can be very short here.
Most of our work in this county is about closing that gap.
Oxford and the ring road
In the city itself, the challenge is rarely access. It is pressure. Hospital discharge can move faster than a family can arrange support at home, and people find themselves back at the front door with a care plan and no idea who is delivering it on Monday morning.
We are used to picking that up at short notice. Tell us what has been agreed and we will tell you honestly whether we can cover it, rather than saying yes and working it out later.
Banbury, Bicester and the north
Banbury and Bicester have both grown fast, and growth brings families who moved for work and have no local support network. Add an elderly parent moving to be nearer their children, and you have someone in a new town with no GP history, no neighbours who know them, and a daughter who is at work all day.
That situation is more common than people think, and it is one we handle well. Building a picture of someone from scratch is a large part of the job.
The villages
Abingdon, Witney, Didcot, Thame, Chipping Norton and the villages around them are where rural care actually bites. Journeys take longer than the map suggests, and a carer running late on a country lane cannot make the time up.
We schedule with that reality built in. A round that looks efficient on paper but leaves no room for a tractor on a single track road is a round that will fail by Wednesday.
What we provide in Oxfordshire
Adult care at home for anyone eighteen and over. Gentle, specialist care for children and young people aged seven to seventeen, including autism, disabilities and complex medical needs. Medication delivery, including complex medicines and controlled drugs. Recruitment and staffing across health, social care, hospitality and logistics. Professional cleaning for care homes, offices and private homes.
Talk to us
Whether you are in the middle of Oxford or twenty minutes down a lane, we are happy to talk it through. No fee for the conversation and no pressure at the end of it.
Beyond this county
We cover the whole of the United Kingdom. This is one of the counties where we already have a team on the ground, so support here can usually start quickly. If you are somewhere we have not reached yet, that is not a no. Tell us what you need and we will arrange it, because a family should not go without support simply because of where they happen to live.
